From zero to 0.9: the first three weeks of FrostZero

Twelve development waves, thirty four builds and the same screen matrix recaptured in every wave.

The push towards production quality started on 8 September 2026 with a baseline build. The first job was not to change the game but to measure it: twenty three screens were captured one by one and every later wave was compared against that matrix. The repository now holds thirty four labelled builds, and every wave close has its own set of frames.

Week one was a content week. A two volume rule book, a step by step tutorial, card faces, a sound pool and drag to play cards all landed. At the close of the week the rule tests passed eighty out of eighty. In weeks two and three the table moved into 3D, the interface of the second game was built and the presentation flow gained a lock and a skip vote.

The fourth wave was a quality jump. The game went through a review round that criticised it from three separate angles, one hundred and thirty seven raw items were reduced to thirty eight agreed ones, and the resulting sixty six item fix package was applied. Waves five and six brought the end of match flow, the table panel of the second game, the veil contract and network hardening.

In the seventh wave we decided that permanent cards land face up on the table; the face down card mechanic gave way to a look mechanic. Waves nine and ten went to the figures, the camera and the readability of the rule book. The version line is written down in the documents: 0.5.0 for the baseline, 0.6.0 for week five, 0.7.0 for week seven and 0.9.0 for week ten.

Put two frames side by side and the menu change is easy to see. In week one the labels around the radio read KURALLAR and ÖĞRETİCİ; today the same spots read SAYIM KAYITLARI and NÖBET LİSTESİ. The names changed so they would speak the language of the station the game is set in.

The frames next to this note are not mock ups. Each one comes from actually running the matching build and capturing it at 1600x900, the design size of the game itself. The media list says which frame came from which build.
